Editorial Policy
How we ensure mathematical precision, source authenticity, and complete commercial independence across all published wage tools.
1. Editorial Independence
StateWageCalc is an independent online tool resource. No advertiser, sponsor, law firm, payroll provider, or corporate affiliate has any input into, or veto over, our calculation formulas, source citations, or explanatory texts.
Our calculators are designed strictly to mirror statutory legal requirements as written by legislatures and interpreted by designated state enforcement agencies.
2. Authentic Sourcing & No Fictitious Personas
In accordance with our core founding commitments:
- We do not create fictional lawyers, CPAs, or industry experts to manufacture artificial authority.
- We do not invent testimonials, user ratings, or inflated traffic numbers.
- Every citation links directly to the real government agency responsible for enforcing the law.
3. Verification Workflow & Testing
Before any rule enters production:
- Statutory Research: State statutes and agency bulletins are gathered and analyzed.
- Data Modeling: Constants and rules are codified in typed data definitions.
- Automated Test Suite: Test cases modeling ordinary and edge-case shift scenarios are written and automated.
- Review & Verification: The calculation engine undergoes peer code review before publication.
4. Corrections & Rule Maintenance
When a state statutory rate changes (such as indexed minimum wage increases or updated overtime thresholds), our team updates the typed rules and runs test suites to confirm backwards and forwards mathematical integrity.
Users who suspect a statutory discrepancy are encouraged to submit detailed feedback via our corrections process.
